The picture doesn't do it justice. The color is actually a true red. The red part of the set has a weave to it that reminds me a lot of a tightly woven linen. The brown is suede. And the stitching has the look of something hand done. Since it's folded back, I was concerned that the patterned part might extend all the way to the top of the comforter. It doesn't. The top is all red, as well. The set definitely makes a statement in the room. I could not be happier!

This is a beautiful comforter, and having the option of it being reversible is great. The only problem I have when I took it to the Laundromat to get washed in their largest machine it ripped along the middle seam of the brown pattern. There was nothing else in the machine but this comforter and it had plenty of room. Now I must take time and money to repair and may need to pay extra for professional cleaning. The label does state it can be washed in the machine but not sure if I want to take the chance of causing further damage.
